The
North American Materials Education Symposium Scientific Committee and Ansys Academic Development Team
are
bringing 12th North American Materials Education Symposium (NAMES 2023) to California Polytechnic
State
University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, USA, from August 8th to 9th, with workshops on Monday August
7th.
This event is a unique opportunity for the Materials Education community to come together for two days
of
talks, networking, and interactive sessions. Come and share in the latest best practice, ideas, and
tools
relating to the teaching of materials.
Conference Overview
The symposia series will keep its spirit fostering an atmosphere of community amongst educators involved in undergraduate and other materials education across disciplines, including engineering, design, science, and sustainability.
- To share ideas, innovations, experiences, successes and failures
- To provoke productive discussion around these issues
- To expand the links that form such a key feature of the Materials Community
NAMES 2023: Call for abstracts
Registrations and submission of abstracts for an oral or a poster presentation are now open. The Scientific Committee would like to invite participants to share their ideas and experiences relating to Materials Education under the following session themes:
- Inclusivity in materials education
- Learn by doing in materials and design
- Teaching manufacturing in material science and engineering
- Core competencies in material science and engineering
Submission Deadlines
Abstracts should be no more than 200 - 300 words:
- For talks: The call for talk abstracts is closed
- For posters: May 31st, 2023
