Instructions for speakers
Please prepare your keynote talk to fit within 15-20 minutes, with a recommended format of 15 mins for presentation and 5 mins for Q&A. A 20-min joint discussion will follow each session, where all speakers will be invited to share their insights on session-related topics. The session chair will ensure balanced participation from the speakers and audience engagement.
The conference is single-track -- the audience will be mixed with a common interest in materials education. We therefore kindly ask you to keep the educator in focus for your presentation, and to make suitable for this community. PowerPoint slides should preferably be sent in advance to avoid delays when switching speakers. It must be:
- No more than 20 slides (max 20 minutes including Q&A)
- Slide size set as: widescreen 16:9
- Please use standard fonts, like Ariel, Calibri, Times etc.
- Limit the use of animations, video clips are often tricky. Please consult the organizer in advance if needed.
Instructions for poster presenters
Please bring your printed poster, maximum A0 (841mm x 1189mm) in Portrait orientation. You will be able to pin it upon arrival between 8:15 and 8:50 am before the symposium start Day 1, which is Wednesday April 15th. The poster venue is upstairs in the conference venue at the Gillespie Center of Clare College, Memorial Court (same as previous years) - the poster screens are 1m wide and will be numbered. The symposium booklet, available online a few days before the event, will assign to you a poster an ID number which will guide bother your order in the poster teaser session, and where to display your poster. Each poster can stay for the full 2 days during the symposium for presentations and discussions but needs to be removed before 4pm on Day 2.
A PowerPoint slide must be sent in advance for the Poster Teaser Session Day 1 - Deadline: Friday, April 10th, 2026. It must be:
- Only 1 slide
- Slide size set as: widescreen 16:9
- No animations .
- Limit the use of animations, video clips are often tricky. Please consult the organizer in advance if needed.

Abstracts should be no more than 200 - 300 words and ideally contain the following:
- Background and motivation
- What was done? Methods used and why?
- Results, i.e., include some evidence and analysis. What was found?
- Conclusions and significance, including wider application
