The North American Materials Education Symposium Scientific Committee and Ansys Academic Program are pleased to bring the 15th North American Materials Education Symposium (NAMES 2026) to the University of Victoria in Victoria, B.C., Canada. NAMES2026 will run from Thursday, July 30th to Friday, July 31st, with workshops on Wednesday, July 29th.


We are excited to announce that this is the inaugural first-time that this North American conference is being hosted in Canada! This event is a unique opportunity for the materials education community to come together for two days of talks, networking, and interactive sessions. Come and share the latest best practices, ideas, and tools relating to the teaching of materials.
NAMES 2026 Session Themes
The symposium welcomes contributions on any areas of materials education, including (but not limited to):
