Accommodation information

The host hotel is the Park Avenue Rochester Hotel. There will be a shuttle service from this hotel to and from the Symposium venue each day for the Symposium.

Rates are listed below and start at S$200 per night. All rates are inclusive of breakfast and WIFI. Rates are subject to a 10% service charge and prevailing government taxes, currently at 7% good and services tax.

Shuttle Service

There will be a bus service available to take delegates from the Park Avenue Rochester Hotel to the Symposium Venue at NUS each day. The bus service will also provide a return service after the Symposium each day.

Symposium venues

Ngee Ann KongSi Auditorium, University Town, National University of Singapore

The Asian Materials Education Symposium will be held at the Ngee Ann Kong Si Auditorium which is located at the University town (Utown) of theNational University of Singapore.  Located in a modern setting, in a small town, it is the first of its kind in Singapore’s higher learning landscape.

UTown is linked to the NUS Kent Ridge campus via a link bridge (College Link), providing a base for 4100 people towork, live, and learn in close proximity. It has many auditoriums, seminar rooms, 4 residential colleges, graduate students apartments, guest apartments, sport facilities, and is within walking distance of many cultural and educational facilities at Kent Ridge.

Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National University of Singapore

The Department of Materials Science & Engineering at NUS started as a Materials Science Program in the Faculty of Science in 1993.  The Department of Materials Science was officially formed in 1996. In 2004/05, the Department moved into Faculty of Engineering and was officially established as the Department of Materials Science & Engineering.  The teaching program in MSE was accredited in 2010.  Major research activities in MSE department focus on advanced materials for infocomm technology, energy and sustainable development, engineering applications, and biotechnology, in addition to the main stream materials such as ceramics, metals and polymers, composites, functional and engineering materials.

Symposium Dinner

The Symposium Dinner will be held at Kent Ridge Guild House. The Kent Ridge Guild House is the largest of three guild houses managed by the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) and it is situated in the NUS campus.
